A little about me

My experience over the past 15 years includes (but not limited to!):

• Bookkeeping processes day to day
• Xero, Sage, Crunch systems as well as integration with Salesforce and similar databases – getting those invoices out and the cash in
• Working with small and medium businesses in Brighton, Hove and Portslade as well as nationwide, in all areas from start ups to companies with over 40 employees
• All business management aspects – HR, technology, admin, office management and more
• Setting up bank accounts, making bank payments to suppliers, reconciling the bank every week or month as needed
• Business development – implementing those lean processes that can make all the difference & increase your profit. Sometimes simple things, sometimes more advanced, but drastically changing your business.
• Liaising with accountants to ensure smooth running of all the monthly stuff that needs handling
• Chasing clients as needed, with a very good balance of customer retention and bringing the cash in
• Handling credit cards, expenses, tying up monthly details etc

I’m a volcano climbing mum who grew up in Portugal and started my first businesses at 15, selling snails and then seafood to local markets. I dabbled in making very detailed (small) fishing boats out of ice cream sticks, but that was my first failure – free materials but too much work for very little return and it taught me a valuable lesson!

This work and Summer jobs funded local travels on my moped and inspired my Wanderlust for years to come. I then paid my way through college until age 18, I came over to the UK then and completed a Business and Finance course. Various office management jobs and then redundancy led me to decide to become self employed and developed a passion for bookkeeping. I gained valuable experience with local companies and was later hired by one of my clients, Life Water, full time to become their full time Business Manager.

10 years later that company is now worth £3 million. With my decade truly under my belt, and an emotional farewell, I decided to return to my own business and focus on developing it further. I have experience in all areas from the ground up, from invoicing to customer service, proposals to order process, recruitment to social media, all with local Brighton clients but also nationwide.
